About XPECT Marketing
Thomas D. Ogden, MSIMC, is the founder and Principal of XPECTMarketing a marketing and business development firm specializing in professional service firms, providing custom solutions, consultative training and coaching to position them for optimum growth and profit. Tom has more than 10 years with two multi-office public accounting firms as Director of Marketing and Business Development and also in a similar role at a top Midwest wealth management firm. Tom’s focus was identifying new business opportunities that matched the unique market, industry and service specializations as well as coaching Principals, managers and staff at all levels in a variety of areas such as referral opportunities, networking, sales skills, closing techniques, leadership training, team development, and communication skills.
Tom’s entre into professional services firms was six years at a five office, regional public accounting firm with 24 partners and 150 total staff where he was involved in the strategic marketing of numerous branches and consulting services and the implementation and opening of two niche offices, including a wealth management division.
XPECTtech, a focused technical publishing company was formed in July of 2012, as a result of Tom’s previous firm Ogden & Company, specializing in marketing communications for high-tech manufacturing companies, and the need for engineering-based technical writing and production of sales literature, technical bulletins, instruction manuals, white papers, and other communications strategies. Tom and his strategic partner relationships developed over the past 20 years provide unmatched technical publishing of communications in print, electronic and online. Tom is currently working with medical instrumentation, industrial equipment, food processing and green technology companies.
Before his professional services marketing roles, Tom spent three years in the technical publishing arena as a Managing Editor of two publications and was instrumental in the conversion of print-to-web publishing. There he authored a monthly column entitled Developing Your Potential, which claimed the highest readership feature in the magazine and which he still writes today.
Tom received his undergraduate degree in Psychology/Business from Elmhurst College and a (MSIC) Masters of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications from Roosevelt University. He is very active in the following organizations:

Tom’s interests include guitar playing, writing, gourmet cooking, coaching baseball, and is now learning to play the Appalachian dulcimer.
